I'm just gonna collate some of the old AoK stuff here, and keep this thread updated with any progress pleiades makes etc etc Smile

Art of Kaos (May 2007-July 2008)

First of all I would like to mention that the audio mastering of a lot of the AoK pieces is quite exceptional. Exceptionally bad that is. We were both 16-17 and had very little idea about levels and mastering and things like that, anyway I hope it doesnt damage any hardware :S

Armavia 967 - A Journey to Extortion (Track 1 - A Gross Extortion of Noise)

Armavia 967 - A Journey to Extortion by ArtofKaos

Soft Knee Compressor, Gate (Track 2 - A Gross Extortion of Noise)

Incidentally, this is my favorite Art of Kaos track.

Bôite De Obalique (Track 3 - A Gross Extortion of Noise)

Boite De Obalique by ArtofKaos

Crematorium Rave (Track 4 - A Gross Extortion of Noise)

Crematorium Rave by ArtofKaos This track got us described as 'experimental avant-garde genre-fucking blasphemy' which i was quite pleased about

Dreams, Ambitions, Cut (Track 5 - A Gross Extortion of Noise)

Dreams, Ambitions, Cut by ArtofKaos

Red Sink/All So Clear When Your Eyes Are Mine (Track 6 - A Gross Extortion of Noise)

Red Sink All So Clear When Your Eyes Are Mine by ArtofKaos

Note: Im pretty sure thats the right order anyway :S

pleiades (September 2008 - Present)

Creme - Soundtrack for a short experimental film by Nick McLean, Canada

One Thousand Strokes (Track 1 - The Penis Club)

Phallic Head (Track 2 - The Penis Club)

Xexyz (Track 4 - The Penis Club)

I am currently starting work on a new album for pleaides, which is going to be a different process to whats gone on so far. I'm going to move away from the drone/noise side of things, more on that as it happens Smile

I hope you enjoy some of the above, and any and all comments are appreciated.

Ben

Aha, best lookin waves eh? I can't even work out which ones that is.

The pipes/Theremin set was with a traditional/rock fusion band called YDK:Fusion, it was actually started before Art of Kaos, but it was made out of myself, my partner from AoK, and a fiddler.

So it was kinda inevitable that as AoK developed alongside the traditional group, the two would have to meet somewhere. The set was one of the last things we did as YDK:Fusion, and it was never done publicly cause when people wanted YDK:Fusion, they wanted traditional pipes/fiddles and rock drums, not psuedo-experimental theremin induced atonal...things.

As far as I know it was never recorded in a practice session either, although actually I might have to investigate that cause we often recorded our practices, it could be lying around somewhere.

As an aside, there is some chanter (the small recorder/whistle type thing pipers practice on when they dont want ASBOs for noise pollution) playing in Crematorium Rave, at around the 9minute mark. Well...maybe not chanter *playing*, strictly speaking, but a chanter was used, certainly.

I've been asked to do experimental stuff involving bagpipes directly by other people before, and its maybe something I will do at somepoint, I do have a CD i made in Spain where I just improvised whatever I wanted and these guys I was recording with turned it into an improvised jazz piece. Thats on CD so I would have to go get it from my parents house if you're interested.
