Subject description: Unknown electronic music passage – I think

This came from a documentary (Naked Planet – Niagara Falls, 1999), and therefore has some background noise and speech. Maybe somebody here can identify the music component and/or tell me where I can find similar pieces with same instrument/s.

I remember that, good show.

Sean Davison is the only musician credited; if it's who I think it is he works in post-production in London and has a presence at http://my.creativecow.net

I didn't listen to the file you linked as it was to a unknown-to-me (beta) free download site and it wanted to open a pop-up; I declined the opportunity because I'm just not as adventurous as I used to be...

If you have Firefox, you shouldn't have any problems.

Well, the site wanted to open a popup, I allowed it to and when I reloaded the page a lot of transfer went on and no popup, and then NO SITE, so yeah, I think there's a frekin problem but I wont be one to help troubleshoot it for anybody like Remi Huet that's for sure.

If you get the file up on Soundcloud or some other working (and reputable) site post a link. I'm gonna run anti-virus etc and see what comes up.

Sorry about that. My version of Firefox tells me about the pop-up but just ignores it, and it just plays the clip with no additional input.

Here’s the SoundCloud link:

Over 300 views and nobody here has been able to identify how these sounds were made?

Could it be that this is not electronic music after all? Maybe just somebody whistling and some kind of string instruments. Ennio Morricone, perhaps?

The whistling sound is a humble sine wave (or a filtered triangle wave) with a bit of portamento. 95% of all soft- and hardware synths can make this sound.

Apologies, I thought you were asking where you could find similar music, not how the sound was made...
