hey there everyone,

currently working on a few of ray's modules and had a quick question for anyone who may know.

LFO board

i see that there are 2 trim pots on this board, not sure if i should use multi turn or single turn. the article does not say one way or the other. i noticed on his pic of the breadboard in the article he seems to be using single turns for the trims.

advanced thanks for any info

I used multi turn - just assumed that's what it needed.

Reading Ray's notes for the VCO he says:

"!!! NOTICE !!! In my opinion multi-turn trimmers are absolutely necessary for R11 and R16. However if you use side adjust single turn trim pots for any of the other trimmers (R5, R7, R59, R60 and/or R64) make sure you orient them so that you can adjust them without difficulty. "

He doesn't say that on the LFO page which suggests to me that it's up to you.

The price difference does tend to be rather huge - I'd be tempted to use more single turn in future and just turn them very very carefully.

Hope that's some help.

If you want a definitive answer email Ray - he's pretty helpful.

Cheers

Ian
