Got mine! Subject description: After years of waiting |
 |
|
Hi folks,
been ever wanting a Nord Modular since the first version has been announced. Back then though, I didn't have enough money to justify the buy. When the G2 was announced, I had just stopped doing anything serious with my synths, so I missed the opportunity to buy one back then. My daughter's birth 6 weeks ago has put creativity back into me, so I started looking for a used one on ebay. Didn't find one, but found someone parting with his G2x due to its complexity. I love complexity, so I bought it. UPS has it now, waiting for the delivery, but I thought I'd chime in and say 'Hi'.
Finally, I'm on board. The G2x will be complementing a V-Synth GT, a Yamaha AN1x, and a NI Maschine. Looking forward to contribute a bit with patches.
Cheers,
:M: |

Welcome, indeed.
The G2 is an awesome synth that does most of my leads in Pure Floyd (www.purefloyd.co.uk) - If you check out our "Shine On" Video, the intro is a complex four layer Pad on a Motif Rack ES (including a PLG150-AN), with the lead on a Nord G2. People often ask me where I have my Moog hidden, whereupon I point to the RED 1U Rack unit in my rig!
And thanks to one of the Noodles on this site, adapted for my needs, it also nails all the synth sounds in "On The Run". And then it does the drone Prophet sounds from The Wall", the Moog Sound on "Welcome To The Machine", the other VCS3 sounds from Darkside, the "worms" sound in "Hey You", etc.
And I use it for more off the wall things in other projects.
I love it, and I'm sure you'll love yours! _________________ Regards

It's there! Subject description: And it's HUGE |

Thanks for the warm welcome. It is finally there. It came with a strong scent (smoker's studio... *sigh*), but after some treatment with warm water the only thing still smelling is the manual
It's 3rd hand but in a fantastic condition. The only annoying thing is the feel of the keyboard, which feels plastic, noisy and worn... since it's a FATAR I would have expected a better action.
Did a revamp in my studio corner to make it fit well... will post a picture to http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-35066.html when I'm back home.
In the meantime I have just enjoyed a couple of the patches on this site... it's amazing what you guys came up with. There's so much to be learned... _________________ Cheers,
