Does the OSX version of the G2 demo really work? |
 |
|
I never bothered using the G2 demo before, because I have the hardware version.
I thought I'd try the demo on OSX 10.6.8 I can't get audio out of the demo patches that I've tried.
I then created a new patch from scratch- just an OSC into an output. Still no audio. Is the software just bad- or do I need to do something else?
I don't see any signal activity on any module- in any patch.
There must be something else that needs to be installed.. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

Hi Cappy,
The Demo works fine in OSX. Open the Demo and go to the dropdown menu: Setup.
Select Audio/Midi setup and first assign your soundcard there.
If you have a midi controller, you can select it there too. _________________ Roland Kuit

I did select the audio device.
I don't have a midi controller connected to my laptop at the moment, just a USB-midi interface.
I thought the midi interface didn't work on the demo (At least on the Windows version). However, this should have no effect on audio output. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

| Sometimes the demo sticks with the audio. Try selecting the audio device a few times, close then open it again. I had this problems to at first.. |

You're right. I've launched it agin, loaded a demo patch and it started playing right away.
It's really a shame Clavia doesn't release the sources for the demo.
For that matter, they could sell it as an unsupported development platform and make a little money at it.

Have you tried restarting the program?
This worked for me, but I don't know the underlying reason. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

It works now...
Thanks a lot
That way I can start programming patches when I'm away from home and have an idea on what's happening _________________ Akai EWI3020/3030m / Alesis Fusion / Cheetah MS6 / Clavia Nord Modular G1/G2X / Creamware Noah, Scope / EMU E6400U, P2000, XL7 / Ensoniq Fizmo / Hartmann Neuron / Ibanez AD202, DM2000 / Kawai SX-240 / Korg 05R/W, A1, DSS1, EMX1, Legacy Collection, Oasys PCI, P6, P800II, SDD3000, Trident, Triton Pro, Zero 8 / Novation SBS, AS / Pearl DRUM-X / Roland D550, MKS80, R880, SRE555, VariOS, V-Synth / Soundart Chameleon / Symetrix 606 / Teisco S110F / Waldorf Blofeld kbd, mQ / Yamaha A5000, AN1x, CS5/15, FS1r |

We'll expect to see at least one 'demo' patch posted from you every day now _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |
