Hi guys, discovered this forum while googling for ambient making. It looks like a great forum so It should be cool to be part of your community.

Im an electronic artist aiming at making cinematic, ambient soundscapes and environments with modern classical, orchestral and folk elements, field recordings and noises. Im classically trained on piano, even though didnt pursue the profession of a pianist. Self-taught on guitar and bass, and for years involved in heavy, punk/thrash hardcore metal music. Fascinated by electronic music, especially by The Future Sound Of London whom i discovered after the Dead Cities album release. Even though I remain a dedicated metalhead, i write electronic music and work on a project of mine over the last couple of years.

Im glad i found this forum and it would be very interesting to have discussions with you guys over electronic music and its production.

Hi mollekula!
(newbe greets newbe)
I haven't heard somebody talking about FSOL for years! I really loved them in the 90s! But they got stuck in som boring hippy stuff as far as i know, which is a shame...

Just listening to some of your soundcloud. At the first impression I thought of selected ambient works (your first track), as it evolved it had absolutely that FSOL-mood, nice!

You know FSOL... it's you can really listen to the whole cd... this is in my opinion achieved by there variety, they had rough, breakbeat tracks between ambient suroundings, right? Then jungle came up, big beat, today they call it dubstep or what? I mean that's the problem with the fsol concept: half of their sound (the breaks) are totally out of date today, or?

really, sweet sounds Smile

Thanks for you replies folks. @nice_voids Well, with FSOL its a huge story, and the fact that when a few years ago there were rumors about the end of FSOL, finally after a long hiatus, the boys started gradually coming back. We've got the FSOLdigital, The Archives and the Environments series which are flawless, especially E2 and E4 which is all new material.

Bro, Im happy than ever with them and the direction they have taken. Taken in mind that the Environments are a kind of transition from Garry's obsession with Amorphous Androgynous. So, I wouldn't be surprised if after years and years of waiting, something as extraordinary as a follow up to Dead Cities appears one day.
