Be sure to bring it to electro-music 2005. We need good recorders... Laughing

Trick;
oscilator -> output ->anlogue chorus (pedal will do) -> input -> envelope, filter, etc -> final output. Push the chorus fairly hard.

Anyway, I suppose you could "scratch" with this on live sound, right? I´d love a "before/after" sample. Do you have a deconvolving program, b.t.w.? A impulse of this would be realy nice you see....
(please pritty please?)

Congrats.

I took the liberty of editing the link. The board doesn´t fold urls like it does with text which creates horizontal scrolbars on lower resolitions.
I think that looks messy.

Shocked

I am la collector, so actually using such a rare find on stage makes me feel like fainting.. eeeeeek..

However, you might want to test the recorder and make it work. That can be done, but the parts are very fragile.. the motors and such.. so take care. A wire recorder has a unique and weird quality. You can record stuff with it, then sample the recordings and tweak these in Live or with the G2. But.. be aware that this one is very unique.

Do they reuse the item numbers?

yes, they do reuse the numbers.

btw, i did get the recorder. it needs a little tlc (lubrication, mostly), but works...one of the wires it came with (from i would guess the 50's) is 3 teenage girls pretneding to do a radio show...with the main topic being farts Shocked

i have to do some maintence on the machine, but it sounds great!

i also have have some funny "found sound" cassette tapes of the former owners of our house (a brother and sister, neither of which ever married). they were crazy and paranoid, and would "document" the suspicious activities of the neighbors. i get the feeling they called the cops on the neighborhood kids a lot, and were therefore harrassed...i have to do a project with those Smile

I was pretty excited about the old tennis rackets!

Seriously, does anyone know ANYTHING about these:

My grandfather gave me TWO of these "Walkie Recordalls" which were made by the Miles Reproduction company. He purchased them in an electronics store in Manhattan named "Kulik's" or something like that - which of course went out of business.

They use "Sonobands" which are like clear 35mm film to record the sound. I'd like to know if I could get some Sonobands and how much the darn devices are worth!

The interesting thing about my two Walkie Recordalls is that my grandfather was a court stenographer in the 60s after the Air Force. They had him use versions of the Walkie Recordalls that were desguised as luggage bags so the people being questioned either didn't know they were being recorded or weren't intmidated by being recorded. Here's the cool part: the "luggage tag" on the outside of the bag was the microphone!
