right, looks like one of the SRAM chips is having some problems, its VERY hot. the chip is CY62128LL and its the chip closest to the in/out jacks.

Belated thanks for the help! I did get in touch with Pablo and he helped me acquire a replacement pot. It didn't fully fix the issue--now the portamento knob doesn't do anything and the FM knob controls the portamento. But it's a workable (if strange) ...

At the other hand as long as I supported the NordLead (and other Clavia synths with ModWheels) I never read about a broken axis nor Wheel. Loose cables, yes, but no broken pots.
