Hohner Clavinet D6 Wanted |
|
|
Hi,
I don't know if the "Wanted/Sale" subforum should be exclusively for synth stuff so maybe I'm going off-topic now without having the intention to.
I'm searching for a Hohner Clavinet D6. It should be in excellent condition, specifically the case, body and keys and those inside parts that can not easily be replaced.
Any suggestions where to look for?? (Of course my native area Austria, Germany, northern Italy would be highly appreciated to be able to check it first hand.)
What about the spare parts? It seems that it's a tough one, not to say impossible to find an original set of strings or hammers.
Would the successor E7 be an alternative? Many www-sources tell you that the D6 and E7 sound absolutely the same, but are just looking quite different, whereas Clavia states in the Electro II brochure: "Unfortunately the added filter proved detrimental to the Clav E7's higher frequencies, which was a serious drawback for the sound quality." Which one is correct?
What would be an appropriate price tag for a Clav that needs restoration like reyarning, restringing, new hammer-tips?
Edited and supplemented 03-05-2006:
As I checked out meanwhile that that filter issue on the Clav E7 that I mentioned above is not worth worrying (Now I know it's easy to adapt the E7's electronic board to D6 layout.), the E7 would be an alternative for me as well. All hints and knowledge on E7 welcome too!
