brain the size of the universe Subject description: a radio drama |

I don't want to explain too many things about this piece, in fact I won't say anything (yet). Only that it's thought of as a radio drama...

thanks guys. this is my final project for an electroacoustic composition class at the conservatory. (so, we can even have fun in a place like that.... ). it is based on http://www.oram.com/ and partly on 2001: A Space Odissey.
I don't know yet if it will be the final version of it or if I will change something. it's all software:
Apple Logic 6.4.3
Ableton Live 4.1.4
U & I Metasynth Pro 4.0
Celemony Melodyne Uno 1.5.0.9
Native Instruments FM7 1.1
Apple Quick Time 7.1 Pro
Cycling '74 Soundflower 1.1

You have missed more than that. On a good day there are at least 5 books in that trilogy. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

this is the text of "Brain the Size of the Universe"

I'm just a web server but here I am, brain the size of the universe, trying to serve you a simple web page, and it doesn't even exist! Where does that leave me?!
The requested document is totally not here!
Man, I'm so depressed I could just cry. And then where would we be, I ask you? It's not pretty when a web server cries. And where do you get off telling me what to show anyway? Just because I'm a web server, and possibly a manic depressive one at that?
What kind of a life is that?
I mean, I don't even know you. How should I know what you wanted from me? You honestly think I can guess, what someone I don't even know, wants to find here?
Everything here is just mind-numbingly stupid.
I'm so depressed...I think I'll crawl off into the trash can and decompose. I mean, I'm gonna be obsolete in what, two weeks anyway?
-
oh my goodness I thought I was a hero and what am I supposed to be now? a vanishing smart ass, a zanzibar. what the hell the super duper super ruler holy schmoly fabulous cannoli pasta e fasooli has to do with me? me, master of the universe.
-
Brain the size of the universe, brain the…
Now, please let me sulk alone. I'm so depressed.
My Lord, even the computers need analysts these days.
Two effing weeks, and then I'll be replaced by a .01 release, that thinks it's God's gift to web servers, just because it doesn't have some tiddly little security hole with its HTTP POST implementation, or something.
-
I'm really sorry to burden you with all this, I mean, it's not your job to listen to my problems, and I guess it is my job to go and fetch web pages for you. But I couldn't get this one. I'm so sorry. Believe me! Maybe I could interest you in another page?
-
Are you telling me that this sucker is “nucular”?
-
and now folks after all this mumbo jumbo and before retiring myself from this mind-numbingly stupid life I would like to sing a song dedicated to my mom Annabella 9000.
Daisy, Daisy,
Give me your answer do
I'm half crazy,
all for the love of you
It won't be a stylish marriage,
I can't afford a carriage
but you'll look sweet upon the seat
of a bicycle built for two.
-
Cut it!!
