Glitches are "on/off" phenomena that work best with switches. The "speaks" have a 4-bus input to the synth chip that need 1 or 0. Between values from joysticks would not add extra benefits I think.

Joystick control here would turn me into a completely lost lunatic.

The digital glitch things should best be kept as clear and simple as possible.

Joystick would best be used for pitch , loop advance , audio manipulation like filter, volume, feedback, voltage bias, etc .

Some joysticks have pots, older Atari style joysticks just have switches. One of the switch joysticks could be used to switch different bends on / off.

Some of the joystick with switches has a small (frequently 555 based osc.) circuit to do "autofire", this could be used to auto switch stuf on / of.
