A analogue Fostex desk, anlogue effects and 1/4" tape.
Oh, and I ride a bike. Cars are fine if you have a family and don't realy want to go where you have to go (because cars spend most of their time standing still behind other cars). I don't have a family nor do I like standing still. If I had a office job and a family I'd probably get a car as well, this would chip off lots of time that'd otherwise be filled with having to fil in forms or dealing with kids. _________________ Kassen |

for recording, i've been using an akai dps16 for many years. the pre's aren't the best, but it does a great job, and i can record 8-10 tracks at a time, and i can both record individual tracks and mix live while performing all with one unit. unlike some of the other devices, it records uncompressed .wav files, and up to 24/96 at that. having a dedicated recording "computer" with faders instead of kbd is really convienent.

I also found that recording to something you know for sure won't crash makes you feel way better. _________________ Kassen |

well....tape can always break/tangle, anything electronic can crash. perhaps we need wax cylinders with someone to turn the crank (and a backup crank turner in case the first one drops dead).

on the other hand, a crash a day keeps my concentration and saving
discipline alive, never knowning when it occurs.
also it helps not to love computers too much... wich is a good thing imho.
and it reminds me of the "eternal nothingness" of the universe. _________________ electroscape

I like this one :
Out of memory.
We wish to hold the whole sky,
But we never will.
after all, computers are only machines,
they can`t be more perfect than their constructors .... _________________ electroscape

The first time I handled 1/4" tape was my freshman year of college. They somehow allowed newbies like me working at the media center desk to be responsible for making cassette copies of reel-to-reel recordings. I ruined an opera singer's only recording. Well, some of it anyway. The tape started to pinch into a tight, thin string. That'll learn 'em. _________________ One Player Game | OPG on SoundCloud |
