Calendar Event: February 18, 2004

Any interested DJ's who would like to battle it out on Wednesday nights for cash and prizes....read on!!


There will be turntables set up on opposite, facing stages. You'll have 30 minutes to go 2 and 2 back and forth against an opposing DJ! Winner of that set stays on the decks to battle the next DJ and so on and so. The last one standing...WINS!!
This is a 14 week contest. All weekly winners will come back for the semi-finals, in May, to battle for the rights to go to the finals also in May!!
There will be 14 DJ's chosen to go to the semi-finals.
There will be 6 DJ chosen to go to the finals.
One DJ will take it all!!

Contest starts every Wednesday night....starting 2/18.
Must register at the club, no later then 9:30 to enter.
Contest will start every week at 10:00.
There will be 10 slots per week up for grabs.
All DJ's who enter the contest, will draw names out of a hat to find out order of the battle that night.
Weekly winner recieves gift certificate to Central Records!
The winner of the finals will recieve:
$$$$$$$$1000 bucks cold hard cash!!!$$$$$$$That's no typo...3 zeros folks!!
gift certificates to the following locations: (amounts posted soon!)
Guitar Center
Central Records
...more gift certificates TBA
Bottem End and Afterdark Gear to all DJ's in the finals!
A paid, yes that's right kids....a paid slot on a huge gig @ club 2000. TBA soon!
A really neat trophy!
Bragging rights for being the winner of the 1st annual BREAKBEAT BATTLE!

Winners selected by crowd appeal and by very qualified judges.



And those very qualified judges are DJ FIXX and J BREAK!! They will judge the finals which will be held on May 30,2004. Fixx and J Break will then have a little battle of their own. Now that will be interesting!!

Great. We're open to all styles and points of view. Many people here are composers. I know DJ's these days do more than just spin records. Do you know a site where the techniques are explained?
