Does anyone still use this forum? I just finally got Reaktor 5 and it would be nice to have fellow users to chat to!!
What happened to Play? Does he not come round these parts anymore? _________________ This message was brought to you from Beyond The Grave. |

I can't believe I've just got Reaktor, and Play's just got a son, and Play gets the congratulations!!
Nah seriously, good on you mate! What have you called him?
Thanks for the hugs v-un-v! It's like walking back into my local after being away for a while... _________________ This message was brought to you from Beyond The Grave. |

Just found this post again. To d. prime: his name is Alastare Lumene. We've got three people in the house and three last names ;)
I got reaktor 5 as well. It's pretty bitchin. I'm very exicted about the core cell stuff. Finally we can create our own low-level processing algorithms. Before 5 came out I was literally writing a reaktor clone just so that I could add fft processing. Let me tell you, not an easy task to accomplish in your off hours. |

Can't really say I've been that frustrated by not doing low-level processing algorithms!!
Like I said elsewhere on this forum, I don't really know what the new Core level is for, so if you've got time to describe the kind of things you're using Core for I'd be really interested... _________________ This message was brought to you from Beyond The Grave. |

Core is just another layer in reaktor. It's a graphical interface to some of the lower level elements in the reaktor library like arrays and logic gates. It makes it possible to create a whole new range of processing units like fft. Even if you aren't into fiddling with the math of things, it means a lot more interesting user created filters and generators.
Free time is in very short supply for me these days but I have my plans :) I'd like to implement some of the features only available in samplers as filters like formant shifting. It's always struck me as bizarre that the NI developers haven't done this. Reaktor is such a great tool for manipulating realtime audio input but the range of built-in filters is so narrow compared to other applications like max/msp. |
