Just finished- and seeking help |

Hi all-- I made the WSG a couple of months ago, and decided to give the SL a shot so I could fall in love all over again. BTW, this forum has been a great inspiration for finishing the project, so thanks for everyone's experiences and advice.
I'm getting some very awesome sounds out of it so far, and it's a blast. BUT I am having a couple of problems I hope someone can offer some guidance on.
It looks like I'll have to rewire S19, because it's always on--turning it off has no effect. As soon as I connect the batteries, it's up.
But the persistent problem is that once it's on, at some point the pitch starts to fall and after a certain point the unit shuts off. When I disconnect and reconnect the battery, everything's back up again. (So that seems to work like a reset.) But it might only be up for only a few seconds, then it dips again, and goes off, etc. Something that began happening yesterday is that after it goes off there's a pause of a few seconds, and then a little burst of white noise kicks in (a little thunderclap of a second or so) before it shuts off totally.
At times I've turned up osc 1 when it dips, and that seems to "catch" it and keep it from going off. Activating other controls (sorry, I haven't really been systematic yet) also seems to keep it from dipping and stopping, but also just postpones the (inevitable) shutdown.
Any suggestions? Does this sound like an S19 problem, or something separate?
I'm new to synthesizers, so at this point I'm not always sure of the line between what might not be working right, and where I'm still in the dark about what SL can/should do. I've noticed a couple of other function problems (what I think are problems, that is) but I want to resolve this one first.
Anyway, apologies for the long message, and thanks in advance for any help. |

hey ,
It sounds similar to problems I was having in this post http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-11646.html , I think my soundlab guzzles up batteries pretty quickly for some reason? I got a power supply and the problems stopped. |

It turns out the problem was my bad wiring-- I connected the battery to the board, not to s1 (despite Ray's instructions being very clear on this matter). Correcting it solved the problem.
Now, onto the sample and hold mod, and then maybe I can pack it in the case and get some use out of it |
