Seeking NYC-area Keyboardist Subject description: Opportunity Available for Keyboardists |

We're an underground but growing band that writes twisted Pop often with a dark edge that sometimes veers into the Experimental. We play a mix of electronic and organic; SOUNDS are as important as SONGS.
We already have two guitarists using effect pedals, Bass guitar and programmed beats. We need a KEYBOARDIST (who can play, not just program) who understands/likes what we're doing and wants to be a part of it and add another dimension. This is a VERY important and integral role, so we're looking hard for the right person.
We've had keys/synths in the past, so your style needs to mesh with what we've already done as well as add something of your own.
Analog or modeling synths and realistic instrument samples are key (digital's ok depending on the sounds). If you like these artists (or similar), you might be right for us:
DEPECHE MODE. RADIOHEAD. NINE INCH NAILS. THE CURE. APHEX TWIN.
THE SMITHS. MY BLOODY VALENTINE. NEW ORDER. TEARS FOR FEARS.
GUSTAV MAHLER. DANNY ELFMAN.
Some things you MUST have or be:
- Decent gear and knowledge of how to use it
- Ready to play LIVE as well as studio
- Better than beginner playing ability with a good ear
- Happy playing+interpreting existing parts/sounds AND coming up with your own
- Reliability / Availability at least once a week plus gigs
- In the New York City area
For more info, including mp3s, reply to:
chthonicstreams [at] gmail [dot] com
Please include what you play, what you're into, and what you want out of being in a band. Online mp3 clips of you are a plus. |

Hmm, they could hire me for the weekends. Gotta have the Concorde up and running in order to make this swift and painless though. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
