I am right now copying the entire contents of the wadorf ftp site at ftp://ftp.waldorf-gmbh.de

I will keep the archive and make the lot avaible freely ( depending on what happwns with the Waldorf Music GMBH assets). If there are any Waldorf fans out there want special access to the lot... please send me a mail. I hope some of you guys sign up for archiving their website. Please contact me if you do this. OK?

My main question has been:
How can the shape an function of burial cloths from the former days be used as a source of inspiration and give ideas for contemporary funeral textiles? The characteristic features in this project is the connection between the searching in a historic tradition and the creative work in adequate materials.

It is primary the Norwegian burial cloths that have been my source of investigations.

old Norwegian burial cloths

In Norway burial cloths have been used over nearly the whole country, in different kinds of weaving according to locale traditions. (The Norwegian term is "kistetepper" or "likkisteåkler".) In addition to the bigger woven woollen cloths, there are smaller rectangular pieces in linen, either quite simple, or with embroidery. They are usually used as a pair, laid in a cross over the coffin, these are called "mortuary crosses".

Waldorf synths will be wrapped with"kistetepper" or "likkisteåkler" Question
