sounds excellent! any chance those kits might find their way over to the uk?

Sure, I will ship it anywhere. I will figure the shipping charges and just tack that cost onto the kit.

I found out about the sn76477 just last week, when I was looking at an old (early 80's) book from my library called "117 Practical IC Projects." There was a section on a very cool sounding, "readily available" sound chip called the sn94281--which a Google search turned up close to nothing on, but pointed me to the "legendary" 76477 and 76488... which it looks like you guys here have been talking about for a while. Glad to see the electro-music R&D team putting this to good use! --Bill

Great, lots of interest! Eventually we can all get together and have an SN Voice synphony!!!

Just doing some final artwork checks before commiting to the manufacturing process!

Here is a CRAZY look at both layers and the silkscreen .....

Hi Elektro! Sure, the "kit" will consist of the SN Voice PC Board, (3) Headers, (3) Housings, Connector Pins, Instructions, Parts Placement Diagram, Interconnect, and Control and Switch wiring diagram.

The boards will sell for about $18.00 and a small extra fee for the extras I mention.

The "official order" taking will commence soon Very Happy

Bill

PS: For the others who expressed interest, I will have plenty to go around as I will probably get a batch of 50 or 60 made Very Happy

re. parts - here are the components that you won't find at regular electronic suppliers:

SN76477
- http://arcadechips.com $15.00 USD
- http://www.febat.com/Elettronica/Elettronica_SN76477_vendita.html 10,00 euro

PT146 2K +3500ppm Tempco
- http://musicfromouterspace.com $8.00 US
- http://elby-designs.com $5.46 US / $7.15 AUD
(or possibly a 1k Tempco's from http://bridechamber.com for $3.50 US - you can theoretically divide the values of the resistors R33-R61 by 2 to maintain the ratio)

LM394 Matched Transistor pair
- http://futurlec.com $1.80 US
- http://digikey.com $7.80 US

LF444 Quad-Opamp
- http://digikey $1.76 US
- http://rsonline.de / http://radiospares.fr 2,46 euro
- http://jameco.com $1.09 US

More Samples!!

Finally got around to making some REALLY OBNOXIOUS recordings. No happy melodies here - just grating & irritating examples of what the SN can do:

1. Single SN-Voice with 556 LFO's modulating the mixer:
http://sneak-thief.com/modular/single-sn-voice-556-a.mp3

2. Two SN-Voices with both of their respective 556 LFO's going full-tilt:
http://sneak-thief.com/modular/twin-sn-voice-556.mp3

3. Two Cross-Modulated SN-Voices. Very very freaky!
http://sneak-thief.com/modular/twin-sn-voice-superheterodyne.mp3

ps. I didn't use any external CV or gate control on any of these samples - just some heavy-duty knob-tweaking

Thats great! Thanks for the links. Just make sure when you all purchase the LM394 matched transistor pair that you get the 8-PIN DIP style package. The board will not use the metal can. Wink
