I'm thinking of building a LM324-comparator and perhaps use it with sequencer CV...

If I run it with split power supplies (+/- 12V) will LOW still be 0V or is it -12V? Is high always V+ (in this case +12V)?

If I run the same comparator from a single power supply (+5V) how will it react to voltages over +5V? Just give the output HIGH or will it burn? Twisted Evil

Done.

Output low will be at -12V when the negative supply is -12V.

Differential input voltage range seems to be Vcc, so for single ended 5V supply they should not go below zero and not above 5V.

This is what I made from : http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/11666/ONSEMI/LM324.html
