Hi, I just ordered a xboard61 from E-MU.

My questions are:

Can I play just with the controller + a computer with speakers or I do need something else...? (If I can play with only those things, can I get some other things that may improve my experience in playing (If yes, what are those thing I should buy?)?)

Where can we find other patches if we want some...?

Is the sound quality as good as a regular synthetiser ?

Finaly, is a patche a file with sound in it? If not, what is it so?

Tanks.

Looks like you get everything you need to play and record. Looks to me like a good choice for getting started. The Proteus will sound great. The software you get to set up the midi controller is excellent.

A patch is a general name that usually means some sort of set up that makes a given synth make a particular sound. The Proteus is not particularly patchable - it has lots of presets. That means you can pick between lots of sounds, but it isn't possible to program the device to make new sounds. But that's OK, you can get other soft synths - many for free.

I wouldn't suggest buying anything until you get this Xboard set up and get a lot of experience with it.
