hi, so i'm trying to go about building something similar to a theremin cello, which is basically some kind of ribbon controlled wave generator, or at least thats what i assume. so i'm guessing i need to build some kind of wave generator (square and/or sine), problem is my electronics ability is limited to assembling kits, so what i want to know is if someone could suggest a relatively good and inexpensive wave generation device i could get in kit form that would alow me to hook up a ribbon controller and preferably be able to tune the range of the ribbon control. well i'm sure i just made almost no sense right now, if so i'll try to better articulate myself latter

You'd use a ribbon controller on the neck/fret area (don't know cello terms)? If it's the touch type, menaing you need pressure, they typically act like a resistor or a pot, so you don't need a square wave generator (which basically is used to measure capacitance, of how close you are, which is more like a theremin. Maybe our words are just crossed.

Do you have any links with examples of what your trying to do that might have more clues/information?
