Secret Filter in Lead 2x? |
|
|
Hello fellow synthesists! This is my first post (I think) to the forum here. I previously owned a Nord G2X and often checked in to catch up on new interesting patching ideas. I recently downsized to a Lead 2x to make some money to finish paying college tuition.
Today, (the second day I've owned the synth) I stumbled upon an interesting little option built into the 2x. I can't seem to find any documentation that this additional filter option exists except that in the program listing, Program 8.40 is named "Super Secret (!) Filter Pad." Which led me to check out that program. And, sure enough, there is a filter in use that lights all three filter type LEDs. It was easy enough to figure out how this was done (Press Shift and the Filter Type button) once I realized that another filter option was available. However, it is not listed as an option in the owner's manual and I couldn't find any reference to it online. Has anybody else found this filter option; and, does anybody know of any further "secret" options hidden in the 2x?
To me, this new filter sounds something like a band reduction type of thing - very different from the other reduction filter that is a standard option though - on the preset patch it has a nice warm bottom and sparkling top, but nothing in between (a much wider frequency range is reduced with this filter than with the standard notch+LP filter). Check it out! |

Actually I have a issue with this filter.
It just doesn't go on by pressing shift + filter type buttons.
When I use the 8.40 patch it appears but I can not manually turn it on.
Any ideas?
Or that will be NL2X number 4 that I will have to exchange??

I found the solution and decided to post it in case somebody is as 'bright' I am
If you try to activate the filter while using a sequencer on MIDI channel 1 it simply won't turn on. As soon as you switch MIDI channel to 2 (and up but not ANY setting tho) it works like a charm. _________________ My Music Page |

Wout I am not THAT retarded
It simply didn't go on when using MIDI channel one track in Cubase, as soon as I switch to MIDI #2 all is fine _________________ My Music Page |

Just remember Midi sequencers and Clavia gear aren't that best of friends... Just try it disconnected to the computer
