got this idea from ignatius over at em411

the best thing to do to get to know the desktop evolver is to get a headphone adapter for it, and go and lay down somewhere away from all the computers and just tweak the crap out of it.

HIGHLY suggested. after i got it, i got the g2, and so it kind of has been neglected. i got a headphone jack about two months ago, and it's been slowly filling up with great sequences:)

i got my adapter from guitar center.

you have to get a "dual 1/4 inch mono male to 1/8 inch stereo female" adapter. or, like i did, they only had 1/4 to 1/4, so i use a little 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. works like a charm.

laying on the couch listening to a sequence as i'm typing this:D

here's a couple other tips, lurnt the hard way:

if you double click the shift button, it stays blinking and you don't have to hold it. (hey if ya knew, i didn't)

when using a midi keyboard with it, you may be confused by it being unresponsive, and not know why adjusting all the key modes doesn't do anything. you gotta turn "poly chain" in the global section to the off position.
