An idea floated through my transom:

I wonder if there is ANY interest in some kind of Electronic music showcase, or some sort of "convention" in the Kansas City or Topeka area/region?

Pretty much in the middle of the USA.

I've been an event promoter in the past (Mostly punkrock shows some with big names, before they had big names)

I havnt much of a clue about what kind of local interest or support there is in Topeka: As far as I know, there is me, and about 3 other people into it here. Kansas City, a bigger city, has some sort of electronic music scene.

That being the case, I dont imagine that such a showcase would have THAT much interest in this larger community (National/international)

But I thought I'd float the idea around just to see the reaction?

Maybe I should just try something small with what few "locals" there are, and see how THAT goes.

Cheers

Hi KK,

I've spent my events budget this year on Philadelphia and Belgium but maybe in the future. BTW, I lived in the Midwest for a few years and visited KC a couple of times. I saw The Who there in 1980 (might have been 79).

I'm up for all kinds of events. Dasz has organized a couple of small meetings in the Pacific Northwest that seem to have been very much enjoyed by those who came. I suggest you come to the Philadelphia event in June and get a feel for what is going on there.
