Also not for Mac - but how about an application that've been commercial for so long, and now it is free for use ? Smile

It is also my favourite software vocoder - it also works live in few ways - You can talk live (use Your mic input as a modulate input) to some previosly recorded audio tracks that works as a carrier for Your voice, or You can use previosly recorded voice samples, or drum sequences to be used as a modulation source for the output of Your favourite synthesizer. You can also mix and match - why not playing live with a previosuly recorded drum loop and a synth pad... just try it - it has so many sound processing options that a beginner user could be confused - anyway - I'm stuck with this software since 2002 Wink

Since it has been released and abondoned, I'm going to attach it here, just in case that web site goes away...

Wow... I'm completely overwhelmed... Could you give me some pointers as how to create a mechanical larynx sounding voice?

Be sure to read the help file. The default settings are something that sounds pretty robotic. Try the other presets.

Make sure you have it configured for your audio in and out devices. If you use a mic, be sure to use headphones or you'll get an unwanted echo.

A mechanical larynx is usually produced with a carrier of a pulse wave.

When you start off, turn the effects off because they can confuse things. It takes a bit of patience to get good at using a vocoder.

I don't use this program myself, but it seems pretty good for a freebie.

Ha ha... Thanks for the help. After playing with it for 5 minutes I managed to produce the sound I was looking for. Apparently I don't need carrier wave at all, just modulater wave alone.

Great. This software provides the carriers. The apparently plays from MIDI too.

Have fun...
