it's a DAW for linux. just installed it, looks pretty conventional but can't get audio to work...
i'm messing around on my friend's linux machine.

Rosegarden wants the ALSA sound system, none other. Which is the sound system you are using?

You might want to check out ze new Ardour 2.0 too. I dunno how it compares to Rosie though.

the error message says:

my friend's computer is using ALSA, but the soundcard is an SBLIVE! Value... but i would have thought that the timing source would be related to the CPU and not the soundcard. any thoughts?

Hmm, try downloading and installing The Jack Audio Connection Kit from http://jackaudio.org/

I think that might do it for you. Otherwise, getting the kernel to do -rt is a bit more of a chore.
