I am excited in love A6 |

Hi all
I have just played with a PEK , A6 and Voyager and have decided to get an A6. why? well because it was great to play with 16 voice and the demos make it sound like so many analog synth I have owned before.
I was looking at a Studio Electronics CODE but the A6 is in the store now!
The only thing that I was really put off by hearing about the tuning voice failure and Alesis going out of business> would my synth be with me in 10 years? |

I say go get the A6 - it's worth every penny and more.
I had a faulty A6 in December last year, and was a little put off buying another one. I then decided to go for a SE Omega 6/8 or even a Code 6/8.
The A6's came back in and i was heavily comparing the features, sounds, etc, vs price / performance to other synths like Sunsyn and the Omega.
The A6 has an incredible set of features that other poly analogs never had, take the 16 voices for example.
The 2 filters on the A6 sound great to my ears, and the A6 does have a sharp phasey sound. Some complain that the A6 has a nasal type sound, but i personally prefer it's sound over many other synths that i have tried and heard.
The SE Omega 8/ Code 8 would be a great synth, but at near half the price the A6 is not just half the goodness. It's very close to sounding like many vintage synths with it's own flavour on top. It can do Moog like sounds, Oberheim style pads, and can sound like the Rolands too. The SE may have a more fatter like sound, but i find that A6 cuts through in mixes like a hot knife in butter.
I have managed to create some fat bass and leads, and i love using them. Take the effects off, play around with the sub oscillators, as well the post filter mix - fun all the way. |
