I'm building a DIY RAM card for my Casio VZ10M synth, from the RA-500 RAM cards that can be bought for it, but are incredibly scarce. It states that it uses a DAN212k silicon general purpose fast switching diode, for the sake of protecting the SRAM's 3V Li button cell battery in the card, from being charged by the synth when inserted.

Can a normal IN4148/914 diode be used in place of it? Or what else do you recommend? It doesn't matter if the equivalent diode is not the same package as the DAN212k.

Here are the specs for the DAN 212k:

Part Number = DAN212K
Manufacturer Name = ROHM
Average Price = 0.03498
Description = General Purpose Fast Rectifier
V(RRM)(V) Rep.Pk.Rev. Voltage = 80
I(RM) Max.(A) Reverse Current = 100n
@V(R) (V)(Test Condition) = 70
I(FSM) Max.(A) Pk.Fwd.Sur.Cur. = 4.0
@t(w) (s) (Test Condition) = 1.0u
V(FM) Max.(V) Forward Voltage = 1.2
@I(FM) (A) (Test Condition) = 100m
I(O) Max.(A) Output Current = 100m
@Temp (°C) (Test Condition) = 25
t(rr) Max.(s) Rev.Rec. Time = 4.0n
@I(F) (A) (Test Condition) = 5.0m
Semiconductor Material = Silicon
Package = SOT-23
Military = N

Cheers, Graham
