Hi all,
I noticed on a few people's front panels, they have an output pot for the S&H part of their soundlabs. This doesn't seem to be in Ray's original circuit.
I thought S&H was just on or off - what would output do? (Doesn't seem to be a selector switch - on at least one design there were rate and output pots and three switches each for input and output selection.)
And is it easy to add in to the circuit?
Thanks. I'm learning as I'm going along here. Embarassed

If you feed the S&H with a noise signal that is 10Vp-p, then normally it will output voltages which are in that range. The output control just scales the output down so you can get voltages in ranges smaller than that.

Is that still necessary since Ray updated the S&H circuit? Or is it purely to give new sonic possibilties?
Did you do that on your stripboard version? I need to see an example so I can try to work out how to do it.
Cheers!

It's the same as any of the output pots on the SoundLab. Signal to one side, other side to Gnd. Take the output off the wiper.
My SoundLab has an extra stripboard layout which has the S&H(II) circuit and two extra VCOs on it. You'll find info about it in the DIY or Ray Wilson section (I can't remember if it got moved or not) Let me know if you have any problems with it.
