hi all, i am a new g2 engine user and new to this forum.

after surfing thru the presets with my headphone, i recognized that patch level increases to a kind of default value which is really high volume for listening with headphones and thus annoying. each time for a patch change and even setting a new variation of the same patch, patch level knob increases to that default value.

is there a method that i am missing as a new user for fixing the patch level in the editor like a hardware keyboard so that each time i will not have to reduce the level with mouse? thanx in advance for your support.

Hi Alchemist welcome

There is no such thing as you'd want. I've stopped using the headphone output after seriously hurting my ears a few times. I bought a small mixer (some Behringer thingy) that I plug the engine in and then use the headphone output of that one. It was a big mistake of Clavia IMO to not use a volume pot for the headphones output.

The only thing you can do is go through all the patches/performances, set the level, and then save the patch (or performance) back into the synth. But when you've set the level lower it might be too low on the normal outputs, as those are quite soft ...

Hi Blue Hell, thanks a lot for your fast response and suggestions. I will probably start to save the patches/performances to a 'reasonable' level. And, it's a pity that Clavia still does not fix that issue in G2 editor 1.4 version.

You can get in-line volume controls for headphones, typically for less than $10us (radio-shack, etc). I use these with my mp3 player, just to get better resolution. Maybe this would help?

yes it seems another alternative solution. as long as contoling the audio output to the headphone via mixer or in line volume controller i think it would be ok. thanks guys Smile
