Nothing to refute about Hobbes' wisdom Wink

in my humble opinion, i think woman are making music and art in a different way. so i think this topic enriches the forum.
as long it doesn't become a dating site for male nerds, well equipped
(with electronic gear).

Hi everybody, I'm a film-maker and circuit bender from Wales currently living in Cardiff.

The subject of women and their roles in the field of electronic music is something that has been covered by history, the fact that it is perceived that women are not as good as men in this field by many people is proof of this.
In fact the roles of women in all types of technical industry, were detrimental to the UK's effort in WW2. Once all the men had left the country to fight, the women stepped up and provided the daily labour to produce shells, machinery and operated all of the tele-communications for the entire country.

Anyway I ramble, my favorite female electronic artist (and somewhat of a deity to me) is Delia Derbyshire. I love her sound. White Noise is one of the greatest acts to have existed. If you've never heard of them please listen to the track "Love Without Sound" it is magical. For the time it was made it is unreal.

Anyway, last year I made a 20min film about circuit bending and was very curious about women who did it and their opinions of the female role in electronic music. I managed to find one good interview with a female circuit bender. But it really says a lot. Please check it out if you have time.
This film is a prototype for a film that covers all aspects of electronic music, it's aesthetics, its origins and its capabilities.

Here's the link.

Much love.

I'll take a wild guess you meant "instrumental." Smile

I'm interested in your film, but youtube is not available where I live.

Would someone be willing to post (create) a transcript? I can't understand speech without assistance and dewdrop (and possibly others) don't have access to YouTube.

Hi Howard, thanks for the warm greetings.

My Degree was in Film and Video, mostly centered around practical film-making. I studied documentary and screen writing modules mainly, circuit bending is much more of a hobby for me. But it's slowly taking over my life...

Ha.
