Hi!

I am about to buy a new synthesizer. I've been playing for a while, but only on a keyboard. Now I'm in a band, and I kind of need to buy a synthesizer. Since money certainly is a problem, I'm going to buy an older one which has been used. My friend has talked to his brother, who really is into that stuff, and he told me that i should buy:

Roland juno 106..or
Nord Lead 1

but no more. So my question is, which one should i buy? They are both very cheap, but i don't really know a lot about what's inside. I'd approciate any help I could get!

thanks!

I don't know if these synths are realy 'cheap', but I know they aren't easy to get. Both synths are very wanted...

If you want to discuss the NordLead 1, better move over to the Nord Lead forum at

If I wanted both but couldn't get both, I'd prioritize the Juno. I think the old gear is finding it's last owners... people who really love it.

I know I'm never selling anything. Someone recently offered me a quite juicy amout of cash for my Solina... and I needed money pretty bad. But it was out of the question. Never ever ever. I'd trade it for a one of my dream synths but that's it. It would still feel like slicing every vein in my body.

Ow... just had a mental picture.

Well, all depends on the music one wants to make...

And I still wonder if a good working Juno 106 is cheaper then a new Korg...
