If I'd make a string chorus PCB, what kind of multi-BBD circuit would you prefer?
Solina style (also: Crumar Performer, Böhm Phasing Rotor, and others)

ARP Omni style

Elka Synthex 4 BBD circuit

other (please name in thread)

I would want neither - it's old fashioned and overused, and if I need it, there are digital FX boxes

Forget Grandata, got a message today that they have no TDA's
and wont be getting any.

I might try, is it Smallbear? The exchange rate are too good to miss

That's a shame - but thanks for checking it out!
I'd offer to combine a SmallBear order but there doesn't seem to be any advantage - there's no price break on the TDAs..

Oh dear oh dear - Small Bear appear to have sold out of TDA1022s at the moment!

bugbrand - they still seem to have the item in their catalogue as far as I can see. Did you try to order some?

Edit: That's quite novel. I guess they are all gone - at least for the moment.

I received a confirmation this morning for my order of TDA1022's from Small Bear, but that's probably just an automated reply. I will keep you posted.

Ok guys, bad as it looks, this leaves one known source of 1022's, and probably several yet unknown sources ...

Time to get this done now ... see next post. Smile

I'm now ready to take orders for the Triple Chorus PCBs.

(See http://www.jhaible.heim.at/triple_chorus/triple_chorus.html for details about the project.)

Pricing is EUR 27.00 per board,
plus a single EUR 4.00 shipping flat charge for worldwide shipping,
regardless how many boards you are ordering and where you live.
It does *not* include any customs fees or tax that you may (or may not) have
to pay in your county.

What you get is a double-sided printed circuit board with component overlay,
approx. size 160mm x 100mmm.

You have to buy the electronic components for this, and build the device,
yourself. (Check the above website regularly for updates and building hints,
bill of matrials etc. A PDF with the component overlay is already there.)

Most components are easily available and cheap standard parts.
In addition to that you need 3 (three) TDA1022 chips. These are BBD chips
that are no longer in production, but which are still available as I type
this.

Important: I am having these PCBs custom-made to your order - it's likely
that there will be only one single production run. If you're in, you're in -
if not, you're not. I have no influence on the availability of TDA1022
chips, however, so if you place an order, I expect you to actually buy the
PCB, and make sure for yourself that you get the required ICs.

I'll wait for the orders to come in for about 2 weeks from now, so you can
check the availability of the ICs.

Estimated time line:

2 weeks for taking orders
2 ... 5 weeks for PCB manufacturing and verifying
Call for payment (don't pay before you get that mail!)
Shipping of boards when payment arrives

If you want to place an order, please send me an email to the following
adress:
jhaible/-/at/-/debitel/-/dot/-/net (remove and replace the obvious
characters)

and use the FOLLOWING FORM (fill in your data instead of [],
for instance: "2 Boards" instead of "[quantity] Boards")

===== Start of Email Order Form ===============

Subject line: Triple Chorus PCB order: [quantity] boards

Email text:

I'm ordering [quantity] pieces of the Triple Chorus PCB
for EUR 27.00 per board + EUR 4.00 single shipping flat charge for any
number of boards.
I'm aware that I may have to pay additional amounts of customs and tax in my
country.

My shipping adress is

[Your Name]
[Your street, number, city, ZIP code, in exactly the form
that is generally used in your country]
[your country]

My paypal adress is [your paypal adress].

I have either already bought the required TDA1022 chips, or I'm confident
I'll get them in the future; I will buy the ordered PCBs in any case.

[your name]

===== End of Email Order Form =========

Looking forward to hear fom you Smile

JH.

No more TDA1022s at Small Bear? Uh-oh. I grabbed four about a month ago so I'm set for a Solina PCB for now, but this may be a bad sign. I know of no other supplier in the US at the moment. OTOH, Steve at Small Bear is very open to finding and stocking items if there's a demand for them. Depending on how many pieces everybody here would need, he might make a special effort to find some more. . . .

7 to 10 days wait, happy to take more orders Smile
price HAS BEEN INCREASED, unable to confirm new price Sad

Cricklewood Electronics - plenty in stock at £5 each."

Joe Grisso on the synt-diy and AH mailing lists apparently has access to a large quantity of TDA1022's and is organizing a group buy.

Also from synth-diy, just passing it on:

"Hiya,
I'd thought that too and emailed them --- but it was just a bug in the
system & is sorted now. I just ordered 6 fine.
Good place / good prices / good service

Well, did he actually run out, or was it false alarm?
Or was it fals alarm first, and he did run out again ??

Hey JH, if SB has indeed run dry and you are going to use this chip in future projects, I would like to get in on this group buy. How to do?

Thanks!

He said he'll show up here on the forum ...
I hesitate to just post his mail here ...
You could contact him via synth-diy mailing list ...
