unfortunately, i don't have room for a familly heirloom that needs a new home due to a house being sold.

this is my grandmothers 1928 (or 29) steinway baby grand, "M" (mahogony). it has had a reasonable ammount of work done in the not too distant past (fixing the action, from what i understand), and is in good shape.

my "inner gearwhore" would love to keep this...but i have no room, and i don't play piano....any suggestions on how to sell such a thing?

A Steinway M should be appraised first. If it has a good sound and has had recent regulation and regular maintenance, it is probably worth a fair amount of money.

A Google search on the keywords "piano appraisal massachusetts" yields some positive looking results.

I would NOT attempt to e-Bay a Steinway grand. You might, but I wouldn't. I'd probably commission it through a reputable piano dealer. There are a lot of people who are looking for Steinways.

This is good advice. I´d do pretty much the same over here in Norway too.. same procedure...
