Hi all! I bought two guitar effects pedals today- a wah and a cheap multi-efects stompbox. I ran a number of devices through them (seperately) to see what would happen but with little or no results. Here's what I tried running through the pedals:

A gameboy (nothing happened)
A metronome/ tuner that can generate notes. (nothing happened)
A radio (nothing with wah; when I ran it through the multi-effects unit I got a disturbed, possessed-sounding voice from a radio station!)

Does anyone know why I got no sound? Did I do something wrong? I'd appreciate it if someone could clear this up for me!

Could the signals not be strong enough for the boxes? Too much resistance?

I've only ever plugged guitars into stompboxes, but I feel that if you try sending a signal with too much resistance through it, not much might come out.

If it is resistance, there are some adapters that I think could set you straight.

What level signal would a gameboy be outputting?

gameboy power output is 6V, 0.7 W
that might not be any help- i know very little about electronics

Tried again with the radio and wah, and this time it worked! I think it's because I used a different jack, so I'll try the gameboy and stuff soon.

yup, tried the radio, gb and metronome/tuner and they all worked with a new jack. Should have tried that before i posted... Anyway, radio with delay and pitchshifter sounds crazy- like some sort of disembodied voice...
