Most of the hum comes from the breadboard and the amp being plugged into an ungrounded outlet.... in a box its dead silent... well... I guess the Uglyface is never silent...

let me know what you think!

That's awesome $uperpuma! You know, I've biult both, but never used them together. Is that a guitar you're feeding into the input?

Yes thats a guitar, but I'm interested to see how different signals will interact with the Uglyface, synths, toys, etc..

Nice effect! the range of sounds your getting out of this thing really captured my attention - maybe put in a quelch/noisegate into the circuit too.

I'd be interested in putting this combo into my modular, hmm I wonder what components would need changing to accept modular voltages/signal levels....

Thinking aloud....

Maybe use ken stones stomp box adaptor pcb...

Just seen that you can buy the tremelus lune pcb for $14 here.

and found a perfboard layout for the the uglyface here:

this seems like a really simple circuit, maybe I'll have a play, thanks for sharing!

A good trick is to use an envelope follower circuit to control a VCA after the noise-causer. You have to use one that outputs a voltage that will reproduce the varying level of the input. Depending upon the input, it should squelch the noise nicely.

We did this on the Andromeda analog distortion circuit, BTW.

Edit: Ah, should have listened to the demo first, that's an entirely different sort of circuit. Nasty stuff Very Happy
