I recieved a cd sent by email and the songs were sent as CDA. Does anyone know how I should go about converting them so I can play them without burning to a cd first and then to MP3's?

Hi nfantom, welcome

first check the size of the files, as usually the CDA files do not contain the music (and then the are 1 kB, or small at least, in size) but they are just place holders that point to the music on the CD.

Trivia:
OS X displays CD Audio files in a different way. Here the offsets are read and parsed into virtual files. So when you open an audio CD you will see the songs displayed in .AIFF format - which is uncompressed 16bit 44.1khz audio. The .AIFF file is pretty much like a wav. You can simply drag the uncompressed songs onto your HD.
