Is there a simple way to save a couple of layered sounds a s a new performance? Do you have to begin in performance mode in order to do so? |

You want to save a layer as a performance, right?
First save the used programs in a memory location somewhere.
Then go to performance mode, no matter which memory location. Press the Slot button and while holding it scroll to the first saved program. Do the same to the other(s) program(s). When ready save the performance to a new memory location.
BTW I never use performances

I want to save a couple of layers (3) - I guess each slot is one layer, right, no/yes, yep/nop?
I've created a nice combination with arpeggiated bass on the left and 2 instruments on the right.
I am not sure I'd be able to accomplish the same knob-twidling result everytime, so wanted to know if I can save whatever I've done with single layers in a new performance. |

A Slot contains just one program (just all the settings of the knobs and buttons);
a layer is more then one Slot active and
a performance is a saved layer.

When changing a layer into a performance, beware what you are saving in the file:

The following is a list of what a Performance contains, that is, what you actually save and recall when
you work with Performances:
For Each Program Slot
*The selected Program complete with parameter settings or a reference to a Percussion Kit.
*The MIDI Channel setting
*The Special settings
*Expression pedal assignment
*Aftertouch assignment
For the Entire Instrument
*The Layer configuration
*The Keyboard Split settings
*Which Program is active for editing
*The Out Mode setting
*The Unison Detune setting | All these parameters have to be right, which is quite simple, but I warn you about the out mode!
