what pots should i choose

The ones in my pic are 16mm.

I have one 24mm reverse log in my Yusynth minimoog clone and that is indeed slightly smoother.

Yeah, I know $1.40 adds up quickly as opposed to 50 cents, but I'm willing to pay for the good stuff when it comes to knobs/pots.

The major contributors to pot smoothness are the grease used between the
shaft and body shell, and on the tension of the spring used to maintain the
pot in its contact position. Some pots don't use one and rely on shaft to end cap pressure.

So if you are unhappy with some pots you bought greasing the shaft often
makes them better.
