got my frac rack today and i have a few simple questions.

1. what size L brackets do i need to buy to mount pcb boards to panels? mouser or jameco stock these?

2. Is there a cad drawing somewhere with the dimensions and layout for a 1u, 2u, and 3u frac panel that i can give to a metal shop so they can make panels for me. (someone said a sign shop might do this)

thanks so much

awesome

now about the l brackets. what size and type do i get? or is there only one kind? if you do a search on jameco for l brackets, nothing comes up that is correct.

are they called something else?

i know the paia ones had one side threaded and one-unthreaded with a bolt.

Try Mouser

"L" brackets I believe.
Maybe angle brackets.
They have various sizes, threaded and unthreaded holes as I recall.
I once ordered small ones with 4-40 threaded holes just for that purpose.

Home depot does sell brackets. Check the specialty hardware section. Bring the PCB and panel with you so that you can try everything out get the mounting sytem figured out.

Or you can buy some thin 3003 aluminum and bend your own using a vise.

mouser part# 534-612. you might have to use them in combination with standoffs to keep the board away from your panel-mount components.

i also often make my own stooge-style brackets out of thin aluminum...
