this is just a shoprt sample how i use the baby10 to control the klee.

the klee controls two voices (EFM VCOs, ssm0244, LPG). the CVs for pitch are fed to the dopefer quantizer. the base frequency of the quantizer is controlled by the baby10. the master LFO clocks the klee and a divider, which ckocks the baby10:

Foni-rific!!! Very Happy I love the sound of those filters getting mixed around. How did you get the panning effect? I'm curios - how difficult is it to quantize Klee sequences?

You realize, or course, I must now build another sequencer so I can try that out.....

Here's another quickie. In the same vein as the previous ones, but this time with 3 voices, and added another active pot so there's quite a bit more harmonic variation. To make the filters a bit more interesting I added some lfo's to each, which sounded pretty good on the studio monitors but got a bit tedious while I was listening closer while adding the reverb - what the heck.

woops - it seems I've reached my maximum upload quota limit - time for plan b....

Host it on my own space -

aargh. forgot to mention the last piece in chain: the LM1036 audio processor. the panning was controlled by one of the klees gate outputs (can't remember which one, patch is overwritten).

hehe, you are joking? actually it needed no quantizing, i just put the sliders in down, up and middle position, so it is quantized by the range switch. i used the quantizer do shift the CVs by the baby10 (could have done it by a mixer, but the quantizer gives more possibilities, like minor or major scale and such...).

I've just upped your quota a bit, when you want you can try to upload here again.

Here's a little noodle I've been playing with.
I didn't touch a thing during the recording. It's just a fairly simple theme dialed into the Klee, with the active bits set to random.
Sent to the ASM-2 and recorded as the noise from the ASM-2 adds various numbers of active bits. Let me know if you want a full breakdown.
Then I applied way too much reverb in Soundforge. Very Happy
I left this running for an hour or so and still didn't get sick of it. It just keeps coming up with new ideas, and keeps returning to it's simple little line, and then back to the single pulsing note.

It's singin' to you, Andrew. Very Happy That's sweet.

Pretty nice setup on the random and pot programming. What sort of noise were you using for the random input?

It's a "random" out, which is just white through a VLPF.

I was monkeying around with an old delay yesterday, running the Klee with 2 voices and an intermittent click from an old Paia Gnome triggered by the Klee Gate 3. Voice 1 is the awesome TH-VCO1/Mankato combo and Voice 2, well I'm not happy with it, 'nuff said. Golden pots settings on the Klee, 2 active bits. I'm just working 2 gate switches for the changes. At some point I flick on the envelope long switches ala Scott Stites to let a bit more thru.
Long live the Klee.

George

Cool! It does sound like it's out for a stroll. Very Happy

Yep, I really like varying the envelope times - it's a nice way of adding variation to the sequence.

More... Cool

Hi folks. I haven't been around much lately but after watching and hearing all the cool Klee stuff in here I was inspired. I took a vid yesterday of my Klee, and here it is.

Watch it in high quality here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz3ugKCKxCs&fmt=6

Oh I just mixed in two XR2206 VCO's on the SSM2040 filter. I turned up the two input pots that are connected to the VCO's.

Lots of really good demos in here, some of the best modular and DIY music I've heard.

I was wondering if anyone has some featuring chromatic quantized CV into a VCO, maybe featuring Ray Wilson's new quantizer.

Love that sound, yes do more. Guess that SSM 2040 is unobtainium now.

You don't really need a quantizer - just tune the pots carefully, and if you get the base intervals absolutely perfect in tune (using a tuner), they'll add up into in tune chromatic pitches.
