Hello electro-musiceers,
After lurking on here for several months, I've finally registered!
I've just put up a small (tiny) website to stream a handful of my songs.
http://www.scatterbattery.com/
I would love to hear what you guys make of them - any feedback gratefully received (the more critical, the better!)
Cheers,
Rikrak (scatterbattery) |

I like the site coding and the player, very clean and efficient.
Musically, I guess I'm in your 'notreallymycupoftea' section although I did like Canon Modder (reminds me of an Ultravox piece) but most 80s stuff I tried to ignore at the time.
Mind you, before I set myself up as a paragon of musical virtue, I do admit to having liked Frankie's "Relax", and "Agadoo" by Black Lace |

Hmm.. I remember it to be pretty hard to ignore the 80s music while the 80s were still on. Some of the stuff was literally sitting on your face. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Yeah *sigh* it was tough. Difficult times!
Anyway, Scatter, the main reason I've bobbled back to this thread is to say I left your site page running while doing other things, forgot it was running, and found several of the trax relaxing and soothing, so I think I have to pull some of them out of the 'notreallymycupoftea' category.
I'm not meaning to imply it's muzak for lifts or supermarkets when I say it worked as background. |

That's good - I tried to put up a a mixture of styles. Not sure if it would be better to have half as many tracks and make them more consistent though...
There is definitely an 80s influence in there - I've been listening back to some old albums recently.
Glad you like the clean-looking site (I tried to tip my hat to the 80s there too!)
Four of the tracks have just been picked up by a netlabel (Canon Modder being one of them) - it'll be released as a free EP called 'Pun Gun' sometime this week I think. I'll post a link when it's up.
Thanks again for the feedback guys!

I've been fortunate to have two EPs out on netlabels since I last posted - they are free to download of course.
'Traffic' on Xynthetic:
"...deep breathy atmospheres, intricate rhtyhms, and a dose of chilly funk."
http://www.xynthetic.com/xsn018.php
'Pun Gun' on Vorbic:
"melodic IDM with pickled walnuts"

Cheers! |
