I expect the original reason for it being here was spam.

Google is pretty damn fast, actually. I'd give it 24 hours for a fairly unique term. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Ooh, I didn't know Bernard Prince had been around so long. I enjoyed a couple of episodes of that a few years ago. A great piece of illustrated... whatever the politically correct label is.
BTW, I have no idea what the original title is about - googling yields a number of different results in various languages, and I can't view them through my workplace www filter.

Oh.. I think Bernard Prince premiered in late 65 or early 66 in the TinTin magazine. The thing about the norwegian magazine Tempo was that the editors for some reason had managed to buy stuff not only from Pilote but also from TinTin and Spirou. In a weird way the norwegian magazine Tempo managed to collect the best of the best from the contemporary french and belgian magazines.
Of course, by XMAS 1974 everything suddenly changed. That was when the first issue of Métal Hurlant came out. Possibly the US version of it, Heavy Metal, is far better known, but personally I think it was the french material that was interesting and wonderful.
I think Bernard Prince first was came out in Tempo in 67?. Hmm.. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I'll figure it out. I'll have to try a Norwegian translator, should one exist.

All those smoky, peaty ones work a lot better if you add just a little spring water to them. Sweetens them up considerably. You should still drink them neat, though. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

So there was an original quote which Blue had said which started the original thread (which was a spam post) but it didn't make it into this. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Ah. Now I can stop wondering what Mazafaka means.
Just finished a tiny nip of Talisker, btw. Time to get cosy with a Charles Stross novel (no, not that cosy ), and then nod off.
Have a nice tuesday evening, all!

PS: There really is something weird going on with the spellchecker on OS X Safari. If you have error tracing tips I can do on my end, I'll be happy to help. When I click the SpellCheck button (which nowadays has a cool squarish look), I get the expected window with a "phpSpell" title at the top (besides from the head of the window), blue bars at top and bottom, and copyright notice. In the middle is just a big black space. _________________ Antimon's Window

Uh,., the Safari spellchecker is active all the tme when Safari notices you are "writing". Seems like it is the phpBB spellchecking app that doesn´t like Safari. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Antimon, do you know of any swedish equivalent to Tempo? Mid/late 60s?
That said, I should look into what was published in swedish of Flash Gordon in the mid60s to early 70s. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I wasn't around in the 60s, so I can't say... my older cousin had a lot of old comics that I got to read when I was little, but those were mostly dedicated comics for Spirou, Gaston, Tintin etc. "Agent X9" has been around for as long as I can remember, although I have never read it. It contained Modesty Blaise stories, among others.
Flash Gordon had is surname translated to "Blixt" in Sweden, which is identical to my surname. Talk about Mr Smoke-too-much!
