Hi, this is my first post! Smile

i need help!!!

Background:
- i want a hardware synth (never had one).
- i have an annoying GAS problem with NL2X and NL1.
- i want a good sounding, playable (studio and live), inspiring and cool instrument.

Now, i have a chance to buy a Nord Lead 1 (unexpanded) for 450€.
And I can't afford a 2X at the moment (they're much more expensive in Europe!!).

My dilemmas: is 4 notes polyphony enough? is it too outdated?
is it worth the money? should i wait a few decades and get a NL2X?
And finally: does it really sound unique+different+more aggressive than the other Nord Leads?

So, NL1 owners and Nords experts, what do you think?

Thanks in advance!

For sure and the 8 voice expansion is hard to get...

Give half the prize!

A second hand NL2, no X, is an option...

I have both and there is no real difference between NL1 and NL2, although both use different DAC's. The NL2X sound surely different, much cleaner.

To use live on stage I recommand the NL2X!!!

Thanks Wout!
I appreciate your help!
I ended up turning down the NL1 and i think i'll wait - and save up for a NL2X!

BTW, what do you think about the 2X? You own that one as well?

THX! Smile

No, I don't own an X, but I know how it sounds: more definition in the sound, so less 'blur and blending', due to different DACs. More Voices (24) and much more memory!!! On stage the best of the NL's, except of the NL3. of course Smile
