Mosc, I have studio recorded material and LIVE stuff hat has been recorded over the past year. Would a "DJ" style set be acceptable ... All my own original tunes of course Very Happy Very Happy I am rearranging the studio, again, so a truly live set is not practical at this time Shocked

Yes, there is no requirement that this be live, but it does add some excitement to the ambiance. Anyway, if you play recordings, be sure to mix in a live mic to explain what they are. It's "radio", ya know.

I'll be working out the schedule very soon. Still got some of these button problems to sort out apparently.

OK, I set up a preliminary calendar. Please see the first message of this topic.

http://electro-music.com/forum/post-159942.html

I inserted it there. Let me know if:

1) you would like a slot
2) the slot assigned to you is too long or too short
3) you'd like another time slot.
4) the Google calendar widget doesn't work for you
5) you have suggestions, comments, complaints, etc.

I would like everyone who is participating to have a little bit of text we can display on the radio page the describes what you are going to be doing. You can just add that as a reply to this topic and I'll cut and paste.

I set this up in EST (US) but according to Google, it should be viewed in your local time zone.

It did work like that earlier in December.
Very Happy
They made a change recently so that it shows the times relative to the time zone you have set (due to user complaints).

It might change again (due to user complaints) in the near future, check the timezone shown in the bottom border.

Howard, I get the Calendar in EST too, from 7-8pm
But as EST is 5 hours behind GMT the slot looks OK, if a little long.
I guess I could probably stretch to 45 mins

and it's modulator esp Wink

9:30 EST is good for me. I'd like to be listed as "Richard Lainhart", and here's my text:

I'll be performing a continuous set of live improvised electronic music using my Buchla 200e/Haken Continuum system. You can find more about it here:

http://www.otownmedia.com/he/buchla.htm

During my set, I'll also be streaming webcam images from my studio here:

http://www.otownmedia.com/birdcam/birdcam.html

See you there.

I am fine in my slot. Thanks. I read it as 15:00 EST, 20:00 GMT, 21:00 WET.

Should be fun. My webcam will be on.

A lot of us have web cams but aren't hip to how to do streaming. I've set up a topic so you guys that are knowledgeable can help the rest of us that might be interested, like me. Smile

OK, Mark Mahoney wants a little more time so I'm going to cut you down to 45 minutes and give him those. If you would like only 1/2 hour, the maybe Mark would pick up another 15 min.

UPDATE: I changed the schedule to represent this.

I'd like to be listed as Boiar instead of ocp.
Would the following text be sufficient?
"Boiar is a Portuguese collective exploring experimental electro acoustic electronics".
We're scheduled for 17h00 EST; that's 22h00 WET right?

That's enough text. I'm going to try to have this text show up on the radio page when you are playing. 1700EST is 2200 WET, according to this page: http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc

Aren't GMT and WET the same time? It is according to this page. http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc

Is this in error?

I'd still like to do a 30-45 minute slot. If you're going all day on Jan. 1, I can do 10:00 am or 11:00 am EST, or sometime in the afternoon.

Howard, here is my blurb. I hope it's not too long .... Embarassed

PS: I sent a request in a PM for a port number and password for oddcast ...

State Machine, Bill Manganaro, of Eastern Long Island, New York, will expose listeners throughout the world to his brand of electronic music that spans multiple genres. Some the instruments that create this music are hand crafted in Bill's electronics workshop that are his own design, or built from commercial kits, or by fellow "Do It Yourself" electronics enthusiasts right here on our own electro-music forum where I do lots of hanging out! Other usual suspects for making my music are computers, samplers, synthesizers, signal processing equipment, lots of wires and cables, etc ....

What to expect from this set is sort of a DJ style format of music I have written in recent past with a couple of older favorites. I mention "sort of" because most of the time will be spent playing and manipulating the audio in real time with only essential descriptions of the pieces played. Some of the music is very melodic while other pieces are very abstract and abrasive. The abrasive stuff was mostly recorded live while in a semi-drunken state resulting from too much wine so forgive me Very Happy
