That's the first time I've ever been to MySpace.
I can't see what all the fuss is about. If someone wanted to know what electro-music.com is about, why don't they just visit electro-music.com? As it is, there's all these people there saying thank you. Thank you for what? I don't understand. I don't think I want to understand.
All this sychophantic "hello" & "thankyou" stuff makes me (wanna puke) quite proud of the fact that I have no friends! Laughing (Or at least just a select few, nobody on myspace, that's for sure.)

Trivia:

Miki would have been as well, but then he died. Miki´s page is handled by my excellent buddy Harald Hoffmann.

Come on now. After all, we are all nerds. All you need to become a nerd and a sad case to start chatting to complete strangers about synthesisers on internet forums! Hello and Thankyou is for those who haven't got round to realising that they are about to release their inner nerdiness. Shocked

Nerd and proud! Shocked Embarassed Laughing

I don't understand what you're saying Tom. What has nerdiness got to do with it?

See Andrew? You are so deeply involved, you have forgotten how naff it is supposed to be to have internet buddies! I would advise that your next project be an all-metal helmet wired to a lightning conductor, designed to unscramble you thought processes, and to see straight. failing that, a sugar lump laced with a drop of LSD should do the trick Wink Cool

I don't think it's naff to have internet buddies. Geez, if I didn't have internet buddies, I wouldn't have any buddies at all! Laughing
Do you feel naff because you have internet buddies Tom? Are you ashamed of us?

What I find naff is this obsession with collecting pseudo friends to add to a list of 500 other people who you don't know at all. People just attaching their signature to each other, stroking egos, making out that they are important, or special because of the number of hits they've got on this or that site.
It's just like people with mobile phones. They leave them turned on all the time so that in the middle of anything at all they can receive a little stroke to their ego. "There are people out there who want to talk to me! To me darling!" puker

I may only have a small group of friends, and some of them may be "internet buddies" but I don't keep any of them in a text box.

My family finally coerced me into getting a cell phone this spring. It's mostly turned off or left sitting, but with kids scattered about the continent and with myself wanting to stay in contact with them from time to time, it has its uses. I used to write software tools to program these things from 1994-2002, and again for the last year and a half, so friends are surprised to learn that I didn't carry one. I hear plenty of voices in my head, without having to resort to that for constant chatter dunno

My practical use of myspace is to keep track of performance schedules of local struggling musicians, bands, and open mics, and it turns out to be useful for that. I guess the friend connections increase their link counts for search engines, I'm not sure. It's not high on my list of annoyances Cool
