i've just build arthur harrison's minimum theremin, and was wondering if anyone has come up with any interesting mods for it.

also, how on earth is this guy doing this:

Hi electro-music.com ! (first post)

As the describtion says it's a mfos soundlab controlled by a theremin midi-interface.

i think that video represents one of the coolest ways to actually use a synthesizer with such an experimental interface which ALSO sounds cool (there are too many people around thinking only because they own a ribbon ctrl or anything similar they're more progressive and creative...).
although the movement might be quite simple the guy playing that device at least knows what he does and what sound to expect (which is not self evident regarding to electronic 'musicians' on the internet).

unfortunately i don't know how to modify a minimum theremin but i have the schematics laying around on my hd for quite a while now and will hopefully build this thing someday, too.

You could add a LFO to it very simply using one of the spare inverters. Actually I'm unsure of that as hes using 4069's and the LFO I know works uses 4093's, 74HC14's or 40106's but I'd try it anyways

I guess you've just got to figure out how to get a 4069 oscilatting at a few hertz to about 10 hertz then you're away. Otherwise just build the LFO and add it in before the low pass filter from pin 12, well, put a cap in pin 12 then the collector from the 2N3904 into the audio path.
Also go here for some easy sound shaping effects that'll work straight off the output. I'd suggest the T.M.K.
