Hi forum members!
Here I want to submit a patch that uses the G2 pitchtracker to catch the pitch of an incoming monophonic audiosignal and then transmits it to an array of 8 oscillators that are sequentially triggered by the incoming pitches. With a sequence of maximum 8 shortly presented pitches you then get the chord of those pitches for as long a time as the respective envelope allows this. In principle it is like playing keys on the piano and pressing the sustain-pedal. Here of course, monophonic instruments like clarinet or saxophone can be used, that are actually unable themselves, to create this effect with just one instrument. A somewhat similar effect can be attained by using reverb of a huge hall with high decay, however, the pitches do by far not come out as clear as in this patch, and that is the reason, I made it.
I added an effect section, to be able to shape the chord timbre according to the respective needs.
In my essays the combination of pitchtracker and sample+hold together with the delay (improves the rate) had about 99% rate of catching the right pitch, rarely though it was e.g.an octave to low or a semitone away from the presented pitch.
Is it that the pitches that come from the speaker already, interfere with the pitch presented last to the pitchtracker? Then it is at least in part a threshold problem of the pitch tracker. Or is it another problem?.
Because of this problem I did not want to present this patch already in the completed section Audio subgroup.
Opinions and knowledge are asked for
Thanks in at advance for the comments

Done
Interesting idea!
Could very well be that the output signal is picked up and confuses the pitch tracker, but could also be due to amplitude differences or signal complexity.
Just some wild thoughts ...
You could try to add some preprocessing like a compressor and some suitable low pass filtering, maybe a noise gate, although I could imagine that to make things worse. Also you try to only sample the signal when it's above a certain level only - although I guess that the treshold should do that, but somehow I never really noticed that one to be very effective. _________________ Jan
also .. could someone please turn down the thermostat a bit.
