Adobe releases version 1.5 of Audition |
|
|
You may remember Cool Edit Pro by syntrillium software. Adobe bought it and renamed it to Audition with a view to promoting it in the film area, the latest version has several tasty new things, such as support for more movie formats, movie timeline in the editor, MIDI file support, integrated CD burning and VST and Rewire hosting capabilities - yummy.
Cool Edit Pro has been my preferred audio editor for about 6 years now, and Adobe are doing right by it as far as I can see. Highly recommended for signal freaks; the manual alone is worth money. If you can find CoolEdit cheap on eBay you can upgrade to Audition 1.5 for $70. I may actually spend money on this!

Cool Edit Pro? Hmm.. and I guess Adobe will not make a mac version of this one. How is this one compared to Peak? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

It makes a prettty good editor as well. And it plays MIDI files and hosts plugins, it just grew out of being an audio editor rather than a midi sequencer. The build in effect plugins and visualisations are IMHO the best. |

Hmmm. I know about it being an excellent editor, but didn't know about the MIDI and the plugins. Nice... |
