A frequency shifter isn't doing the same thing as a pitch shifter, its not quite a fair comparison.

Just noticed the new pictures.

Beautiful stuff!
It makes me proud to see my boards behind frontpanels like these!

Yes Front Panel Express, I am in Canada and panels end up costing a fortune because FPE only ship UPS, so because of customs and the expensive UPS brokerage fee it seems for every order there is at least a $40-$50 brokerage fee on top of taxes.... Well worth it thou.

Here is my Interpolating Scanner wired as a Scanner and Tracking Generator. I bought a second board to make a Scanner Chorus / Vibrato.

I changed R81 to 51k like Jurgen mentioned to get the Scan CV to cover the entire range in 5V, at 5V I was getting between the 8th and 9th step, so a 47K worked for me...

It cannot hurt to make it even smaller (like, 24k) if you have an attenuator potentiometer for the CV. Then you can "overmodulate" the scan input - the "scan beam" rushing across channels 2 ... 8 and resting at 1 and 9 for a longer time. Of course the same can also be achieved without overmodulation, and a trapezoid LFO waveshape - there are many ways to get intersting effects. All I can say is: experiment, experiment. Of all the modules I've made, I'm sure this is the one that will allow for the most unexpected applications just by experimenting with it in unusual settings. Smile

I built my vibrato/chorus and interpolating scanner in a 2U MOTM style panel. It is VERY dense. I used clear shaft potentiometers for the LEDs so they light up the center of the knobs.

Posted Image, might have been reduced in size. Click Image to view fullscreen.

Details of my construction are on my web including a video of the LEDs in action.

Nice video!
You have to see this to believe that the knobs light from within.
What caps are there on the knobs, btw?

I use the 3/4" Tyco knobs PKES60B1/4 to match the MOTM style. However, the price has gotten pretty expensive so I use Radio Shack #274-415 which look the same and are 4/$2.99. That way I didn't feel guilty about drilling a hole in the center. I glued a small metal eyelet in the center of the knob for a finished look.

Finally got a proper panel for my Compact Phasing clone. Nothing original design-wise but I'm happy enough. This was my first build of this caliber and can't tell you, Juergen, how much I appreciate your patience. 6 months ago I'd never even picked up a soldering iron in my life.

Speaking of which, I'm *almost* too embarrassed to post a photo of the job I did on the board - my wiring jobs have gotten so much neater since building this.

Thanks a lot guys.

Yeah, I really dig those knobs too. I have more I'm hoping to get to use one day (they're a little big so it needs to be a panel with extra room).

Thanks! Cool

I used Inkscape to do the graphics on the computer. Printed the image out on an iron-on transfer, the kind for ironing on to dark colored t-shirts. Ironed it on to the face of the enclosure and gave it a few coats of clear lacquer. I've been doing my stompbox graphics this way for years and it seems to hold up really well.

Beautiful front panel layout!
Just look at this almost circular arrangement of knobs and switches ...
